Sexual Orientation and Employment Issues
Aims
To provide an awareness and understanding of sexual orientation and employment issues
Objectives
By the end of the course participants will:
- Have a greater understanding of the implications of current equality and diversity legislation with specific reference to sexual orientation
- Have an appreciation of the roles and responsibilities of staff with regard to sexual orientation and equality in the workplace;
- Have a greater understanding of the facts and truths behind some of the prejudices, myths and stereotypes surrounding lesbians and gay men and how these impact in the workplace;
- Have identified individual strategies in order to help your organisation in creating and maintaining an inclusive working environment
- Have evaluated the effectiveness of your own individual practices and the organisation's policies relating to sexual orientation.
Format
A one day workshop for a maximum of 16 participants.
Certificates
A certificate of course completion will be issued for use.
