The Age Regulations were passed to implement the age provisions of the EU Framework Employment Directive.
In October 2006, Age discrimination became the 6th strand of unlawful discrimination in Great Britain.
More people complain of age discrimination rather than any other form of discrimination. The experience of other countries, which have already introduced age discrimination law suggest there may be a large number of cases.
At present, the Age Regulations only apply to discrimination in employment and vocational training.

Our course on the Age Regulations 2006 has been designed to give a clear overview of the legislation and covers all aspects quoted above.
As there is as yet no case law in this area, we draw on cases from the other strands of legislation and also from other countries who's age regulations have been established for some time.
A one day workshop for a maximum of 16 participants.
A certificate of course completion will be issued for use.
